Psalm 107:17-22

Today’s reading really helps us put sin into perspective. Sin is destructive! It robs us of our innocence, clear judgment, and happiness. It puts roadblocks in our earthly relationships and causes so much inner turmoil. Yes, sin is horrible. Yes, it is destructive. But it has no hold on us because Jesus triumphed over death and sin, and we now have victory because of Him. We are able to find freedom from sin and bondage. When we understand the weight of sin, we can better understand the significance of the cross.

Verses 21 and 22 say, “Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and sing joyfully about his glorious acts.”

Take some time to reflect on all that the Lord has done for you throughout your life, including sending His son Jesus to claim your sins as His own and pay the price for them. The Lord is worthy of endless praise and thanksgiving.
