During the baptism of Jesus, we see the Holy Spirit coming down upon Him. Then we hear the words, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy” (1:11). This statement coming from Heaven is spoken before Jesus even has a single day of ministry under His belt. It comes because He is, not for anything He has done. Before we dive headlong into whatever it is that God has for us today, it is important for us to remember that prior to anything being accomplished, we are His dearly loved children. Let us start there and then allow that truth to be what pushes us into the rest of our day.

How often do you forget or fail to realize that you are a beloved child of God before you accomplish anything for the Kingdom?

How would it change things for you if you started off every morning by reminding yourself of this truth?
